Sail away to
Solomons , a picturesque island town nestled in the joining of
the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County
Maryland.
Discover
nature's wonder and pan for ancient sharks teeth at nearby
Calvert Cliffs State Park, enjoy a day on the water or a
casual stroll or bike ride around the island. Enjoy
local concerts with headline acts like of Chicago, Bonnie
Raitt, James Brown, Little Feat, Mearle Haggard, The Beach
Boys...and the list
goes on.
Stroll the Riverwalk and catch the sun as it dances on the
waters of the wide Patuxent. Wander through unique gift shops,
enjoy a seafood feast in one of our casual restaurants, hop a
jet ski, or
rent a boat, buy some bait, and try your luck catching dinner.
Do you like Lighthouses?
Solomons boasts one of the last remaining "screwpile"
lighthouses that used to dot the Chesapeake Bay and adjoining
rivers. The
Drum Point Lighthouse on the grounds of the Calvert
Marine
Museum is open year-round, every day weather permitting except
on holidays. The Calvert Marine Museum also provides
tours of the
Cove Point Lighthouse just a few miles up the road.
Solomons has great local
attractions, but is also a wonderful place to stay when
exploring Southern Maryland or Washington DC. Solomons is open all-year-round.
From the delicious offerings from Solomons Restaurants during
the Taste of
Solomons in the late winter, our 4th of July
Celebration in Summer, the year 'round festivals at
Annmarie Garden, our wonderful quiet and colorful
fall, and of course, the
Solomons Christmas Walk
in December, you will always have something to do and see
throughout the year.
